1998 Gibson 5500 This gently used, extremely well maintained Gibson 55ft is 1998 manufactured model. The condition of this houseboat is about as close to perfect as you will find in this market. Designed and built for entertaining guests, vacation or weekend trips, or a permanent residential address. With a large master stateroom at the stern with large, opening windows and a sliding glass door that opens to the back deck. This stateroom has a queen size bed, massive closet space, large dressing mirrors and a wall mounted flat screen TV. Forward of the aft stateroom is a condo size bathrrom with his and her sinks, walk-in shower and cabinetry that trumps many condiminum bathrooms. Forward of the master bathroom is three steps up with a beautiful brass handrail into the galley area that is large enough for preparing holiday meals with plenty of counter space and all ammenities. Across the galley bar is a main salon with a dining table, and a large sofa with plenty of comfortable seating on the lower helm station. With massive side windows on the main windsheild, this boat can very easily be driven and even docked from inside the salon. Visibility off the port, starboard, and bow areas becomes very helpful when navigating and docking a boat this size. Forward of the main salon, down a few steps to a lower deck is a secondary state room with twin double beds. Four can sleep comfortable with more than enough drawers and closet space to store everyones gear. Just outside the stateroom is the foward head, with a walk-in shower. This boat is powered by two 7.4 Crusader 454XL with V-drive transmissions. These are 330HP engines. An onboard Westerbeke generator provides more than enough power needed when away from the dock, with two 240 gallon fuel tanks this boat is perfect for long distance travel. With two upper level decks, there's an upper helm station with all neccessary gauges and accessory controls. Actual ConditionThis great looking boat was beached for the afternoon when unexpected wind-driven waves caused it to take on water.
